The Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur is an Institute under Crop Science Division of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (which is  a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 under Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture). This handbook has been prepared for information of the general public, as required under the Right to Information Act, 2005 passed in the Parliament of India. The main objective of the hand book is to provide information as desired under Section 4 of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

Each subsequent chapter is according to the various clauses as given under Section 4 (i) b of Right to Information Act, 2005.
