IIPR is a unit of ICAR, New Delhi.  ICAR follows Government of India rules mutatis mutandis. The following is a list of rules and regulations which are used for discharging functions by the Institute:

2. Memorandum of Association- Rules of the ICAR Society

3. Agricultural Research Technical Service Rules

4. Audit manual of the ICAR

5. Delegation of powers as issued by the ICAR from time to time
